Help us support residents through major change on the Abbey Estate
Abbey Action Group is an independent, non-party-political resident and community organisation supporting people affected by major change on the Abbey Estate in Thetford.
We help residents access clear information, understand the planning appeal process, share their lived experience, and make sure their voices are heard.
Your donation helps us provide practical, accessible support to residents, especially those who may be older, vulnerable, digitally excluded, anxious about the process, or unsure how to engage with official systems.
What your donation helps fund
Donations help us cover the practical costs of supporting the community, including:
printing resident information packs, flyers and posters
running drop-in sessions and community support meetings
helping residents submit appeal comments and access online systems
website, email and digital tools
accessibility and language support where possible
venue hire for resident sessions
volunteer materials and outreach support
community wellbeing and resident support activities
practical estate improvement work, such as environmental reporting and local community projects
Every contribution helps us reach more residents and make sure people are not left out of decisions affecting their homes, wellbeing and future.

Any funding received supports community information, accessibility, wellbeing and resident support activities, and is not used for party-political campaigning.

The Abbey Estate is one of Thetford’s largest residential communities. Current regeneration proposals could affect hundreds of homes, garages, parking arrangements, green spaces, support networks and daily life across the estate.
Many residents are finding the process difficult to follow, especially where information is online, technical, or hard to access.
